Transaction Management

UPDATE: iPOS 8.0.14!

The team here at Monitor have been working hard on another new version on iPOS which has some very important new features for both schools and libraries!

Firstly, the iPOS offline system & Data Client have now been greatly enhanced. The Data Client now determines whether or not Supervisor Net is offline – rather than iPOS having to find this out when you’re trying to do a transaction. This process means the slight delay of approx. 15 seconds you may have had with Supervisor Net going offline is now nearly undetectable and results in no delays what-so-ever! As well as this great time saving feature, iPOS can now be manually placed into offline mode with no need to worry about the funds – when it comes back online, these funds still get deducted from user accounts and doesn’t affect cash & eftpos tenders at all.

With iPOS now making a recent integration into libraries too, when iPOS version 8.0.14 & Supervisor Net 8.2.7 are used in conjunction with your native library management system interface (LMS), iPOS can now restrict customers purchases. For example: Joe owes the library $20 in fees/fines, allocation to a restricted account means he’s unable to use Monitor services until said fees/fines are paid. You can control this all through your LMS and this information is now passed on to your Monitor solutions. When patrons are paying their fees and fines via iPOS, they can now watch the progress on a customer facing display.

Finally – When using iPOS in a school system with a child’s restrictive spending activated, your children will now no longer see their full balance – but the restriction they have for that day/week/term etc. Previously if the child had $10 in their account, but a $5 a day restriction, it would show the $10 total. Now we display the spend limited amount to make this easier to use for both the child and the shop operator. This work flow also benefits parents using auto top-up; knowing their children are only aware of having a certain amount per time period.

All of these new features were designed for these specific markets, however if your market is different and could benefit from these capabilities, please get in contact with us to talk about these options with you!
