July 2020 – New Site Installations

As we have all experienced, COVID19 has hit the industry hard in the last quarter – with us included. However, MonitorBM have had some new sites go live despite the turmoil.  Pleasingly, we have also been able to assist a good percentage of existing MonitorBM partnered sites to adapt their workflows and use our products to promote social distancing in some creative and unique ways.

BURWOOD CITY COUNCIL LIBRARIES

Recently we deployed a MonitorBM expense management solution for Burwood Library in NSW Australia. With the server components fully cloud-hosted and managed by MonitorBM, we were able to deliver a higher level of security, while still providing the functionality of an LMS integration, so important to any library operation.  MonitorBM provisioned a suite of our products including MyMonitor, which allows users to self-manage their accounts in a web portal, including activities such as adding funds onto their library accounts.  These funds can then be used to access other library facilities like our Monitor Computer Reservation, Monitor Print, photocopying, and the settlement of any outstanding fees or fines. Monitor Computer Reservation was installed on 15 public-use computers and Monitor Embedded layered on to 2 photocopiers/mfds for self-service use in the public space of the library. Alongside the usual print, copy, and scan functionalities we also supplied Burwood with a hosted ‘Submit print jobs via email’ function. Users can simply email a file they would like printed to a dedicated library email address, which is then placed in a queue under the patron account, ready to be released securely and conveniently with a swipe of the patron’s card at any of the library print devices.  Importantly, this workflow negates the need for a dedicated library computer in order to release print jobs that have been submitted in this manner. MonitorBM supplied a kiosk onsite to support all of the library accounts without the need for any intervention by library staff.  The installed kiosk enables self-service account top-ups, paying fees and fines, even purchasing approved items right there at the kiosk using EFTPOS, cash, or library account funds.

ST JOHN’S COLLEGE

St John’s College is a valued existing MonitorBM partner site. St John’s is a residential college within the University of Sydney, meaning they had some unique requirements. We installed our Meal ID solution to manage both lunch and dinner services onsite. Previously, Meal ID has worked with a card scanner and permanently mounted screen for the staff. However, in this instance St John’s already had our solution on portable tablets to create different workflows from the lunch service to the dinner service; dinner being the busier time of the two.  In addition to our Monitor Meal ID solution, we also have Monitor Print and Monitor Laundry Control installed at this site. The laundry facilities were installed in two laundry rooms with a Monitor kiosk onsite to reload funds self-sufficiently and with no administrative overhead.  Tying this all together for both our client and their customers can create a seamless function. One card and one purse for meals, printing, and laundry, with St John’s receiving pre-payment for all these campus services.

MonitorBM powered library and school spaces can really benefit from our wide range of products, capabilities and the flexibility we offer.  We are experts in automation and integration to deliver the best possible results for our values partner sites. From Computer reservation through to laundry, whatever the transaction may be – there is a MonitorBM solution that can tackle it.
